Who We Are
Photo Zone provides online and in-store photo printing, photo gifts, wall art, frames, store services, delivery and Click & Collect.
This policy explains how we use personal information when you browse our website, use the Photo Zone iOS mobile app, connect the app to a participating in-store kiosk, place an order, upload images, contact us, use an account, or visit one of our stores.
Information We Collect
We collect the information needed to quote, produce, deliver and support your order. This can include your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, billing details, order choices, product options, uploaded files, support messages and store-service details.
When you use the mobile app, this can also include the photos or videos you select, filenames, captions or messages, account and order history, payment status, product interactions, and kiosk connection, transfer and reliability events. We do not access photos you have not selected for the service.
We also collect technical information such as device and browser details, IP address, referrer, page or app activity, cookie identifiers, checkout events and diagnostic logs so our services work properly and we can understand performance.
- Card and Apple Pay payment details are handled by Stripe and wallet-payment providers; Photo Zone does not store your full card number.
- Uploaded images and designs may be transferred and processed by Photo Zone and Uploadcare to make the product or service you requested.
- If you use an account, we may keep account details, order history and session information.
- We do not use information from the mobile app to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate the website, mobile app and kiosk connection; process orders; take payment; transfer selected photos; produce prints and gifts; provide delivery or collection; send service emails; answer support requests; prevent fraud; maintain security; diagnose reliability problems; and improve our services.
Where you opt in or where the law allows, we may also use information to measure marketing performance, understand customer journeys and send relevant updates.
Our Lawful Bases
We use different lawful bases depending on the activity. Order handling, payment, production and delivery are usually needed to perform our contract with you. Accounting, fraud prevention, security, service improvement and customer support may rely on legitimate interests or legal obligations.
Where consent is required, such as certain analytics, advertising or marketing cookies, you can withdraw that consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that has already happened lawfully.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the reason it was collected, including order fulfilment, support, accounting, legal, security and service-improvement purposes.
Uploaded files and temporary upload sessions are kept for production and support, then removed or expired on a rolling basis. Some temporary upload sessions may be retained for up to 90 days so orders can be completed or supported.
Kiosk connection and reliability records are retained only as long as reasonably needed to complete transfers, support orders, investigate faults and protect the service. Closing an app account does not require us to erase records that we must keep for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or order-support purposes.
Your Rights And Choices
You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you. You can also object to certain uses of your data and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You can request account deletion from the mobile app's account settings. We will delete or anonymise information that we no longer need to retain, subject to the legal and operational exceptions described above.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but essential cookies are needed for baskets, checkout, account sessions and some security features to work correctly.
Contact And Complaints
If you have a privacy question or want to exercise your rights, contact us with enough detail to identify you and the order or account involved.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your personal information is handled.
